Đề bài

NGỮ LIỆU: Teenovator is an annual competition by the City Teen Council. We ask teens to find problems of the city and suggest solutions. Here are this year's winners.

1. ______: Central School
They see that the more developed a city is, the more food people throw away. They suggest carrying out a project which turns food waste into energy. Students would sort their leftovers at school canteens. A nearby farm would come to take the food waste and process it into biogas.

2. ______: Bookworm Team
This team feels that many public amenities, particularly the city library, are not teen-friendly. They suggest a list of changes so that the library can attract more teens. Some of them include designing lively learning spaces for teens and having teen's favourite desserts in the cafeteria.

3. ______: Helena Wilson
Helena realises that there are too many vehicles around school gates. This is unsafe for children who walk to school. She suggests that the city authorities not allow cars at school gates at drop-off and pick-up times. In addition, they should not let motorbikes park on the pavement near school gates.

Read part of an announcement about the Teenovator competition. Match the topics in the competition with their winners. There is one extra topic.
List of topics:
A. The street-safe city
B. The teen-friendly city
C. The food-smart city
D. The waste-free city

Gợi ý trả lời

Cách làm: Đọc kĩ nội dung từng đội thắng cuộc rồi nối với chủ đề (topic) có nghĩa khớp nhất. Có 4 chủ đề nhưng chỉ 3 đội, nên sẽ thừa 1 chủ đề.

a) Winner 1 – Central School → C. The food-smart city
- Nhóm này nhận thấy *"the more developed a city is, the more food people throw away"* (thành phố càng phát triển thì người ta càng vứt bỏ nhiều thức ăn) và đề xuất biến food waste (rác thực phẩm) thành năng lượng/biogas.
- Đây là cách xử lí thức ăn một cách thông minh → food-smart city (thành phố ứng xử thông minh với thực phẩm).

b) Winner 2 – Bookworm Team → B. The teen-friendly city
- Nhóm cho rằng nhiều tiện ích công cộng, nhất là thư viện, *"are not teen-friendly"* và đề xuất các thay đổi để thư viện thu hút thanh thiếu niên hơn (không gian học tập sinh động, món tráng miệng yêu thích…).
- Cụm từ teen-friendly xuất hiện trực tiếp → teen-friendly city (thành phố thân thiện với tuổi teen).

c) Winner 3 – Helena Wilson → A. The street-safe city
- Helena thấy *"there are too many vehicles around school gates. This is unsafe for children who walk to school"* và đề xuất không cho ô tô, xe máy ở cổng trường vào giờ đưa đón.
- Vấn đề về an toàn đường phố/giao thông → street-safe city (thành phố an toàn trên đường phố).
